Best Gluten Free Foods at Disney World

Rounding up the absolute best gluten free food at Disney World! From ice cream and macarons to brisket and fried chicken, this is a list you won’t want to miss!

Our trip in January 2024 was my first time eating gluten free at Disney World. Since being diagnosed with celiac disease in August 2023, many things have changed in my life, and traveling on a gluten free diet is certainly one of them. Thankfully, no one does gluten free like Disney, and so I’m rounding up my favorite gluten free eats from 2024.

Best Gluten Free Foods at Disney World

Aurora Dole Whip Cup - Storybook Treats, Magic Kingdom

Found at Storybook Treats at Magic Kingdom, I just had to have the absolutely adorable Aurora Cone, featuring Dole Whip Strawberry and Blue soft serve. I made it gluten free by requesting it in a cup and removing the crunchy pearls. I was left with this cutie pie blue and pink Dole Whip swirl, which is reminiscent of Aurora’s color-changing gown in Sleeping Beauty. I was definitely sad to not get the cute, cute, cute blue cone, but a girl can dream that someday they’ll make it gluten free.

Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar - Throughout the Parks

The ultimate classic Disney treat! A Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar is the perfect snack. We enjoyed these at Hollywood Studios after an early morning running around Galaxy’s Edge, and directly after a showing of Muppet*Vision 3D. The vanilla ice cream is cold and creamy, the chocolate forms a pleasant shell, and there’s just no way to not be happy eating Mickey-shaped ice cream. There’s just not.

BBQ Brisket Melt and Potato Barrels - Woody’s Lunchbox, Hollywood Studios

I dreamed of this sandwich since our last visit and was absolutely over the moon when I saw that it could be made gluten free! The BBQ brisket is juicy and delicious and the gluten free bread wasn’t bad, either. Potato barrels are always a good idea. Pro tip: be sure to mobile order early. We had about a 45 minute wait for our food and then had to stalk other park guests for their tables.

Fish & Chips - Raglan Road, Disney Springs

I had read a lot about Raglan Road and how amazing they were with gluten allergies, and so when I scored a dinner reservation, I was so excited to give it a try. Our waiter also had a gluten allergy and he was phenomenally helpful in helping me order. I had to go with the fish and chips, which had me at the words ‘dedicated fryer.’ Not only was the food incredible, but the Irish dancing and music was such a fun addition to the night. 10/10 would recommend!

Sprinkles Cupcakes - Disney Springs

I was psyched when our waiter at Raglan Road suggested that I stop at Sprinkles to pick up a gluten free cupcake for dessert. They had 2 gluten free flavors that night - red velvet and lemon blueberry. Both cupcakes were out of this world! It was super fun to have my own special gluten free dessert, especially as the rest of the group got to enjoy over the top doughnuts from Everglazed.

Metkayina Mousse - Satu’li Canteen, Disney’s Animal Kingdom

When I saw that Satu’li Canteen had a gluten-free, flourless chocolate cake on the menu, I made sure to make a stop with Penelope directly after riding Flight of Passage. This absolutely stunning dessert included: flourless chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, raspberry gelée, mango coulis, boba pearls, and a milk and white chocolate garnish. I highly recommend this treat!

Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich - L’Artisan des Glaces, EPCOT

Last year, when I was in Disney World and eating all the gluten, I fell in love with the Croques des Glaces, a brioche ice cream sandwich filled with ice cream and sauce. I was really sad to not be able to eat it this year, however, I would place the Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich as a close second. I went with the seasonal raspberry macaron, filled with vanilla ice cream and raspberry sorbet. It was especially refreshing on a hot day!

Mickey and Minnie Waffles - Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey and other character dining locations

I was absolutely THRILLED to have my very own gluten-free Minnie Mouse waffles at Cape May Cafe (at Disney’s Beach Club). This is a buffet character dining experience, and while most items on the buffet were gluten free, of course, the waffles were not. The cast member was very knowledgeable and brought out my own plate of gluten free Minnie Mouse waffles from the kitchen for me (with allergy stick!).

Popcorn - Throughout the Parks

Popcorn is a Disney World staple and can be found all around the parks. We always get a refillable popcorn bucket and use it throughout the week. It especially comes in handy for those hangry, I-need-a-snack-now moments and it’s perfect when waiting in lines. See my full post on one of the ultimate treasures of Disney World snacking, the refillable popcorn bucket!

Cheesy Dream Puffs & Fried Chicken Sandwich - Summer House on the Lake, Disney Springs

The newest addition to Disney Springs is Summer House on the Lake, a stunning and delicious restaurant with a California Cool vibe and an almost fully gluten free menu to boot. We had a fantastic dinner. The food, the mood, the service were all impeccable and I can’t wait to go back again someday. I highly recommend the cheesy dream puffs, little gluten free bites of heaven that everyone enjoyed. And, the fried chicken sandwich was crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned and just an all-around treat for this gluten free gal.

Honorable Mentions:

Unfortunately, these foods were on my list to try, but I didn’t quite make it there to get them. That’s why there’s always a reason to return to Disney World!

  • Gluten Free Mickey Beignets: These can be found at Port Orleans resort.

  • Gluten Free Churros: These can be found at Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom.

So there you have it, 10 of my favorite gluten free foods in Disney World, and 2 more on my list to try for next time! What would you try on this list?
