Blue Baby Girl’s Nursery

A blue baby girl’s nursery that’s feminine but not too sweet…the perfect room to welcome a sweet baby girl!

When we found out we were having a girl, I made it my mission to not make everything pink. I was personally not a fan of pink as a kid and hated the immediate assumption that girls equal pink. So when I started thinking about decorating the nursery, as always, I gravitated towards my signature color: blue! Instead of pink, I focused on blue and lavender for this adorable baby girl’s room. We’ve since moved to a new home, but I will always cherish getting to plan and pick out the sweetest colors and things for my sweet baby girl.

Of course, I started by making a moodboard so I could see if my vision could possible come to life.

I chose Benjamin Moore’s Sweet Bluette for the wall color. I loved it so much, that it followed us to our new home too. We painted Henry’s big boy room in this beautiful blue. It works for boys, girls and everyone in between. I found these sweet bedding pattern from Pottery Barn Kids and the quilt was absolutely perfect to bring the whole look together. And the prints I found on Etsy. The giraffe flying away with the yellow balloon is the first item I bought when I found out I was pregnant.

How sweet is her dresser and changing station?! Gah I’m having so much nostalgia writing this post! I so lovingly chose every single detail and I still love it today. I loved the look of white furniture against the blue wall and all of the lavender accents. It just came turned out so sweet and I’m so happy that I have all of these photos of baby girl’s nursery.

A close up of our stock. We kept diapers, creams, burp cloths and bibs right on the changing table for easy access. These bins are all from Pottery Barn. And the changing pad cover is Babies R Us…remember that one?

For extra storage, I had this bookcase with cubes. The only pink I added to the room was in these cubes. I have an extensive Sesame Street plush collection, because, fun fact, my first job was working in Global Toys for Sesame Street! I had hung onto these dolls for so long and I was so excited to share them with my babe.

And, I have to mention this DIY baby closet. I am still so obsessed with how organized and functional this closet was, especially for being in an apartment! I have a whole blog post about how I put this together, just visit my DIY Baby Closet post!

I have to mention, I set up a tripod at 40 weeks pregnant to take this photo and shoot photos of the final nursery! I’m so happy I did. What a baby I was myself, unknowing the motherhood journey that lie ahead of me.

Thanks for joining me on this little walk down memory lane! I absolutely love this blue baby girl’s nursery for a non-pink, but still feminine baby room! What do you think?
