Holiday Gift Ideas for Kids
These holiday gift ideas for kids are universally awesome for all genders and ages!
I absolutely love shopping and finding the perfect gifts for my kids as well as for my nieces and nephews. I’m sharing some of our absolute favorite items that have stood the test of time, through both kids at various ages. I really enjoy taking a moment to think about the toys that have been with us for years - entertaining the kids for hours on end. I hope you enjoy these ideas as much as we have!
Holiday Gift Ideas for Kids
Magnatiles. This is probably our most loved, most used toy over the last 5-7 years. My kids have played with these almost daily over the years, creating lots of scenes, from towns and tiny dance floors to garages and NASA headquarters. There are so many different sets now, but the original is really all they need.
Melissa & Doug Ice Cream Counter. A perfect gift that we’ve enjoyed and gifted to nieces and nephews. It is probably the number one toy that guests want to play with and provides hours of imaginative play.
Melissa & Doug Pizza Counter. Another perfect Melissa & Doug set that gets regular use with my kids and friends. It’s so well made and adorable!
Poke a Dot Books. A favorite gift! These are so fun and interactive for even the littlest kiddos, and even provide some satisfying fidget time for older kids and adult.
Stomp Rockets. Can’t take the kids indoors for another moment? Send them outside with some Stomp Rockets! These are so fun for the whole family. Shaun and I will even get out there to stomp or chase rockets. It’s a great toy all year round, for all ages. Get the dueling rockets so both kids can play at the same time. And, throw in an extra set of rockets - trust me.
Floor is Lava game. We love the game and love the show. Perfect for indoor or outdoor play and a great way to get the kids up and moving to burn some energy.
Build a Snowman kit. One of my favorite gifts to give, the Build a Snowman kit is just one of those things that you may not think to buy for yourself or your kids, but I guarantee, when it snows, you’ll all be searching the house for random items to decorate a snowman. This kit stays bundled in a sweet bag, and is really just such a fun item to have on hand.
Crystal Hedgehog Growing Kit. This one is on my kid’s Christmas lists! It’s so adorable, I hope Santa brings them!
Alphabet Robots. Henry loves playing with these at school and they were at the top of his Christmas list this year. I love that it combines hands-on play with letter reinforcement. Is there a more perfect gift?
Tot Tube Playset. Another one I spotted on instagram and had to put on Santa’s list. I envision this being one of those toys that seems so simple, yet will provide hours of entertainment for both of my kids.
Melissa & Doug Hiking Playset. This is a toy that’s gotten tons and tons of play in our house. The kids love packing up to go on an imaginary hike - or even to wear out for a walk to the playground. We’ve gifted this as well, and it’s always a hit!
Walkie Talkies. This is the perfect gift for siblings - especially if you don’t want to be stuck walkie talkie-ing with your child all afternoon :) Fun for different parts of the house or outdoor play.
Design & Drill Playset. This is another toy on top of Henry’s list. I feel like this would be so satisfying for kids of all ages (and adults too!) and a great way to use those find motor skills.
So there you have it! Our top toys for kids list - most of which are tried and true for years, and the others are on our list for this year!
What would you add to this list? Tell me in the comments!
I’m sharing all of the books I’ve read this summer so far! I’ve read a little bit of everything, from beachy reads and romance to thrillers and yes, Harry Potter. Read on to see what I thought of them and what you might want to add to your list!
